Manor Park Playschool

Where children laugh, learn, and play!

Since 2002, the Manor Park Playschool has welcomed children to learn through play. Today, the Playschool provides quality half-day recreational programming to toddlers (aged 18-30 months) and preschoolers (aged 30+ months).
Children in the Playschool explore their budding artistic, athletic, musical and linguistic skills -- in age approriate activities.  Qualified and experience staff provide a warm and caring environment. Toddlers enjoy a stimulating playtime tailored for them.
Nestled in the community centre, the environment offers grassy lawns, treed parkland and preschooler-friendly play structures.

Preschoolers' programming runs from 8:30-11:30am on Tuesdays through Fridays, where families select their frequency of participation.  Programming for toddler-aged children takes place on Mondays from 8:30-11:00am.  Fees are prepaid to the Manor Park Community Council (MPCC) by month of registration.

Q:  Is this licensed child care?
A:  No.  The Manor Park Playschool is a recreational program operated by the Manor Park Community Council (MPCC). The MPCC offers a variety of recreational programs for children throughout the year including sports, arts, and summer camps.  (We have programs for parents, too!)  We have been a recreation provider for over 35 years.
Q:  Is the program open on holidays, PA Days or during the summer?
A:  The Manor Park Playschool is open from September through June except for public holidays (including Easter Monday).  We close for one week during ‘March Break’ and for two weeks during Christmas and New Year holidays.
Q:  Can I register my child at any time during the year?
A:  We accept registrations on a monthly basis provided there is space in the program and your child is old enough to participate on the mornings of your choice.
Q:  How old does my child have to be?
A:  Toddlers must be 18-30 months old and preschoolers can be 30 months or older.  Not old enough yet?  You can reserve a spot in the program for the beginning of the month in which your child turns the correct age.
Q: Does my child need to be toilet trained?
A:  Preschoolers must be toilet trained or in the process of being toilet trained. While we implement a toileting routine geared for your child’s success, children need to be ready for toilet training. Pull-ups are allowed.
Q:  What should my child bring?
A:  All children must bring indoor shoes, outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, a healthy snack – nut- and peanut-free, please -- and a change of clothes in case of an accident.  Children not yet toilet-trained must have a supply of diapers / pull-ups, and wipes in their backpack daily.  For your convenience, indoor shoes, a change of clothes and diapers / pull-ups may be left in your child’s cubby.
Children in Toddler Time should have diapers, wipes and a change of clothing in their backpacks at all times. If children are being toilet trained, staff will work with parents to ensure they meet with success while they are in Toddler Time.
Q:  Do you provide fee subsidies?
A:  Sorry, but fee subsidies are not available.
Q:  Tell me about a morning at the Manor Park Playschool.
A:  Each day is planned so that your child can laugh, learn and play in a warm and caring environment. Children explore their budding artistic, athletic and linguistic talents -- in age-appropriate activities. Tabletop activities, crafts, dramatic play, sensory exploration activities allow your child to freely explore.  Storytime, complete with show & tell, snack and outdoor play complete a full and exciting morning.
Q:  Can I arrange a visit to the Manor Park Playschool?
A:  Of course! To arrange an alternate time to visit, please contact the MPCC office.
Q:  The Manor Park Playschool sounds great!  How do I register?
A:  Registration begins by downloading the registration package.  Receipt of your completed registration form and payment at the MPCC office complete your registration.
Q:  Are Pre-Authorized Debits (PAD) available for fee payments?
A:  Yes!  This safe, easy and reliable payment method is provided as an alternative to post-dated cheques or cash. Information is here. Families selecting to pay by cheque must provide post-dated cheques for the term of their registration before their registration is accepted.
